Her mother was Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of mobile provider Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. is her father, director of a company on the internet and businessman. The girl was raised as a Catholic in the city of Manhattan's Upper East Side. Their parents had their daughter at the Convent of the Sacred Heart an institution of the religious elite. Since she was young she's been a music lover. She began to play the piano in the very beginning and wrote her first solo song at age thirteen. She's performed at a variety of open mics. The singers she admired were queen Michael Jackson Madonna, David Bowie. After high school, she entered New York University's Tisch School of Art to pursue a degree in music. She did not complete her studies, but she left the school to start her music career.
